She went on to teach Health and Wellness at the middle school level, first at Lincoln Middle School in Portland, Maine and then at Falmouth Middle School in Falmouth, Maine. She also served as a Health Program Coordinator for The American Red Cross, and a Case Manager at The Pine Tree Society for Handicapped Children and Adults.
"My Mom told me that when I was a little girl all I wanted to be when I grew up was a Mommy and a person who took care of others. My interests haven't changed much! I have 2 beautiful children and am blessed to have a job where I spend my days helping others. I very much enjoy assisting in the healthcare of our patients at MIW, treating everyone with the kindness and respect they deserve. I particulary enjoy being an advocate for our children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and helping those children and their families to heal."
Besides being a Health Educator and Medical Assistant to Dr. Shotz, Jennifer has a passion for volunteering, most recently with Beacon Hospice providing comfort to those who are dying and support for their families and friends. One could also find Jennifer volunteering in her sons classrooms on a weekly basis. Jennifer also enjoys athletics and often combines that passion with her love of volunteering. Together with her father, she has raised over $10,000.00 and walked close to 400 miles for breast cancer research. She also enjoys spending time with her family on Casco Bay in the summer and at Sugarloaf USA in the winter.
