Laura Plourde

Laura Plourde, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern Maine in May of 1993. She went on to work for Verizon where she was a service representative and also worked in management.

Laura has spent the last few years as a stay at home mom with her two little boys. Her boys became patients of Dr. Shotz after one received a diagnosis of Autism and the other with anxiety. She is diligent about recovery for her boys and supporting other parents through the ups and downs of treatment for autism and other developmental delays.

"I knew when my son was diagnosed with autism that he was going to recover. I was right about that. I also knew my biggest life challenges lay ahead. I look forward to sharing my experiences with other parents of children with autism and working with Dr. Shotz to ultimately recover as many children as possible."

Laura is currently a member of MIMRAC (Moms in Maine Recovering Autistic Children) a support group held in Belfast.
